New policy ensures consistent access to local businesses in the area.
Mooresville, NC — The Town of Mooresville is beginning overnight parking enforcement in several downtown public parking lots. This initiative was created to ensure that the community at large can consistently access local businesses.
As of Thursday, October 1, 2026, overnight parking will no longer be permitted between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. in the following public parking areas:
Charles Mack Citizen Center back parking lot (upper and lower) – accessible from Church Street
Public parking lot – located off Church Street between Moore Avenue and Center Avenue
Liberty Park parking lot – accessible from Iredell Avenue
Vehicles remaining in these affected parking lots during the restricted hours will be subject to enforcement and towing. The Town will continue to allow overnight parking in the public parking lot located at the corner of Church Street and Iredell Avenue. This lot is not currently subject to the 2 a.m.–6 a.m. overnight parking restriction.
Overnight parking is currently allowed on the street.
Businesses where employees regularly work past 2 a.m. will be provided with special passes to allow them to park through the enforcement window.
This initiative is the result of several months of discussions with Mill One, the Mooresville Downtown Commission, and local business owners whose feedback was integrated into the final plan. The Town appreciates the cooperation and understanding of residents as we implement this change and work to better manage public parking resources throughout Downtown Mooresville. We recognize the importance of maintaining accessible and well-managed public parking while also supporting the residents, businesses, visitors, and events that make our downtown a vibrant community.
