GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) volleyball team will begin the 2026 Southern Conference (SoCon) road slate, traveling to Spartanburg, South Carolina, to face Wofford on Friday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 3, at 4 p.m. inside Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.
The Spartans swept the Terriers last season, securing straight-set victories in both meetings. UNCG is 35-18 in the all-time series against Wofford.

About the Spartans
- The Spartans come into the week with a 9-4 overall record and 2-0 mark in SoCon play.
- UNCG went 2-0 in the opening week of SoCon play last weekend, securing back-to-back victories over Western Carolina in Bodford Arena with scores of 3-0 and 3-1.
- Junior outside hitter Allie Sweet was named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week this past Monday, for the second consecutive week. Sweet recorded 40 kills, three service aces, four assists, 23 digs, 7.0 total blocks, 47.5 points and two double-doubles on the week.
- The Spartans have received four SoCon Player of the Week accolades this season, including Sweet earning SoCon Offensive Player of the Week twice (Sept. 21 and Sept. 28) and Izora Gragg being named SoCon Setter of the Week twice (Aug. 31 and Sept. 7).
- Sweet stands out in the top five among national rankings, including: attacks per set (first/13.42), points (first/294.0), total kills (second/252), total attacks (second/698), kills per set (fourth/4.85) and points per set (fifth/5.65).
- Gragg is second in the conference in assists per set (9.96) and total assists (518). Her 518 total assists this season puts her at 17th nationally.
- Connore' Siler-Nixon paces the team in the middle and is second in the conference with a 1.15 blocks per set average and third with 60 total blocks this season.
- Chloe Nussbaum is the leading libero for the Spartans and sixth in the SoCon with 184 total digs this year.
- As a team, the Spartans are second in the SoCon in assists per set (12.25), hitting percentage (.226) and kills per set (13.38).
- In the team's win over Delaware State on Sept. 20, Sweet broke the single-match program record in kills with 36. The previous record was 34 kills held by Becky Moore against Chattanooga on Oct. 3, 1997.
- Sweet, Nussbaum and Gragg have all hit career milestones this season. Most recently, Gragg achieved 2,000 career assists in UNCG's SoCon opener against Western Carolina on Sept. 25. In addition, in the team's matchup at Clemson on Sept. 4, Sweet paced the Spartans with 16 kills to secure 1,000 career kills, while after leading UNCG with 19 digs, Nussbaum reached 1,000 career digs.
- UNCG recorded a 17-12 overall record and a 9-7 mark in the SoCon last season.
- UNCG was selected to finish fourth in the 2026 SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll with 50 total points.
- Sweet was named to the SoCon Preseason All-Conference Team after being selected to the All-SoCon First Team last season.
- The 2026 roster features 12 returners and five newcomers, including four freshmen and one transfer.
- Head Coach Trent Dunahoo is in his first season at the helm of the UNCG volleyball team and fourth season overall with the program. The 3-1 win over Northeastern on Aug. 29 marked his first win as a head coach.

- The Terriers currently stand 9-5 overall and 2-0 in the league.
- Wofford also went 2-0 in the opening week of SoCon action, taking down the Mocs in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with back-to-back four-set matches.
- The Terriers were picked to finish second in the 2026 SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll with four first-place votes and 72 points.
- Bradley Brown, Laney Klika and Chloe Smith were all tabbed to the 2026 SoCon Volleyball Preseason All-Conference Team.
- Klika stands out defensively at fourth in the country in total digs (300) and fifth nationally in digs per set (5.36).
- Smith is currently pacing the SoCon in aces per set (0.48) and service aces (27).
- Brown leads the league with a .366 hitting percentage on the 2026 season.
- As a team the Terriers are leading the SoCon in six categories, including: assists per set (12.54), digs per set (16.25), hitting percentage (.246), kills per set (13.52), team assists (702) and team kills (757).
- Wofford concluded the 2025 season 17-14 overall and 10-6 in the SoCon. The Terriers defeated ETSU, 3-2, to win the SoCon Tournament Championship. The team's season was concluded with a 3-0 loss to Kentucky in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
- Head Coach Lynze Ross is in her 12th season at the helm of the Wofford volleyball program and has led the team to a 199-146 record during her time.
