ROCK HILL, S.C. — Catawba College senior Seth Caudill has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week following his performance at the Friday Night Lights Elon XC Opener, the league office announced Monday.
Caudill turned in a sixth-place finish in the 6-kilometer race, crossing the finish line in 19 minutes, 20.6 seconds. He averaged 5:11.3 per mile and was the top finisher for Catawba in a field that featured several NCAA Division I programs.
Caudill's performance helped Catawba open the 2026 season with a team victory. The Blue and White placed five runners among the top 22 finishers and totaled 66 points to finish ahead of Coastal Carolina (82), High Point (87), Davidson (102) and host Elon (109).
The honor marks a strong start to the season for Caudill, who also competed at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May, placing 15th in the 1,500-meter event.
Caudill and the Catawba Indians return to action at the Converse Kick-off in Spartanburg, S.C., on Sept. 19 as they continue the 2026 season.
